POLIS University hosted a series of engaging workshops from May 11, 20 – 21, 2024 as part of the Workshop Series for Adoption of STEM Best Practices. These workshops focused on: STEM, digital skills, inclusiveness and diversity, and universal design.
STEM Inclusiveness and Diversity: The workshop was held at the premises of POLIS University on May 11, 2024. The session led by Dr. Albina Tocilla addressed crucial topics such as the role of computer science in promoting women’s involvement in STEM. A special segment, featuring guests from Ferrara University, Italy, focused on the fundamental design tools of Inclusive Design. This segment highlighted the development of products and services tailored to the needs of fragile user categories, demonstrating how to harmonize human needs with technological advancements.
STEM and Digital Skills: On May 20, participants gathered for the STEM and Digital Skills Workshop, which featured dynamic presentations and interactive discussions.
Dr. Sonia Jojiç led this session and it delved into the relationship between universal design, digital content creation, and women’s inclusion. Guests from Linnaeus University added value to this theme, who as part of their staff visit at POLIS contributed their valuable insights, enriching the conversation with their expertise and sparking thoughtful dialogue among attendees.

The workshop underscored the critical importance of integrating digital citizenship and gender inclusivity into the future of STEM, inspiring participants to engage actively in creating a more inclusive and technologically advanced society.
