On May 16, IBC-M held three engaging workshops as part of the Workshop Series for Adoption of STEM Best Practices.
Digital Citizenship: Prof. Judita Krasniqi, professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at IBC-M delivered a comprehensive session on digital citizenship. This workshop covered the importance of digital literacy, responsible online behavior, and the ethical implications of digital interactions. Prof. Krasniqi emphasized the role of educators in guiding students to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, equipping them with the skills needed to become informed and ethical digital citizens.
Inclusiveness and Diversity: Prof. Jelena Djokic, Senior Researcher in different projects and a full-time professor of Environmental Studies at IBC-M led this workshop with a focus on creating an inclusive and diverse environment within STEM education. She shared her extensive knowledge of best practices for promoting inclusiveness, addressing the barriers faced by underrepresented groups in STEM fields, and fostering a culture of diversity and equity in the classroom. The workshop included interactive discussions and practical strategies for integrating these principles into everyday teaching practices.
Digital Skills and Universal Design: In a second workshop, Prof. Jelena Djokic conducted an engaging session on enhancing digital skills and applying universal design principles in STEM education. Drawing from her training with the STEFORA Consortium, Prof. Djokic provided valuable insights into integrating technology in teaching, the importance of accessibility, and the use of universal design to create learning materials that accommodate all students.
These workshops collectively provided educators with essential strategies and practical tools to enhance their teaching practices, foster inclusivity, and ensure accessibility in the evolving sphere of STEM education.
